Effective Behavioural Supports (EBS)
We are excited to continue our school-wide initiative entitled Effective Behaviour Support! This program has been a part of our school for the last few years and we are looking forward to continuing with it for this and upcoming school years, while incorporating some changes. Our goal in using this program is to build partnerships between the school, home and community in order to work together for the betterment of our children.
Effective Behaviour Support (EBS) is well known throughout Canada and the United States and has been established to:
- promote pro-social behaviours
- meet the unique needs of our students and our school
- identify problem behaviours and to carry out strategies to prevent the identified behaviours of concern
- incorporate social skills training
In the DOCUMENTS portion of the website, we have included a matrix outlining our expectations at École Parkdale, the process that the staff use to address both appropriate and inappropriate behaviours as well as a list of our monthly school-wide themes for character education.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank parents/guardians for your assistance with our Effective Behaviour Support Program. Through your support and encouragement, we believe this initiative will help in the development of a respectful and caring school environment.
