Our School

Grades Taught

Kindergarten - Gr. 6 (English & French Immersion)

Introduction

École Parkdale is located in the south-west quadrant in the city of Wetaskiwin. Our school population (English) draws students from the following boundaries: 36 Ave. to 51 Ave. (North - South) and 57 St. to 50 St. (East-West). We also have students who are bussed from other areas of the school district as a result of programs offered at École Parkdale.

Our proximity to the Four Bands Reserve in Hobbema makes us a natural choice for enrollment of First Nations students.

Mission

At École Parkdale Elementary our mission is to create a safe learning environment by:
1. continuous assessment that drives sound educational practices,
2. utilizing programs that arise out of identified needs to challenge and motivate students,
3. nurturing a culture of reflection to enhance our school community.
Using these tools, we will achieve and maintain high educational standards for our learning community in the areas of: Academics, Social behaviour, Physical skills and Cultural appreciation.

Programs and Services

In addition to the English programs, the school also houses a K-6 French Immersion Program. These students are residents of the City of Wetaskiwin and the rural areas of Wetaskiwin. Some of these students are bussed due to the distance they are located from the school. École Parkdale is a dual-track English/French school.
