Parkdale School welcomes smudging every day for students, staff and families. Students learn the Indigenous way of being, by practicing, and sharing Indigenous knowledge. Elders come into the school and share creation stories and assist with ceremonies that take place throughout the school year. Students participate in beading, making small headdresses, dream catchers, sewing, etc. Drumming on the big drum and hand drums happens every week with the boys, hoop dancing and POW WOW dancing will happen early in the New Year. They are also taught basic Cree commands, every week. We welcome volunteers to come share with the students, beading, sewing and dancing.
If you want to volunteer please contact Mrs. Gloria Rogers at 780-352-4594.
