Parent Council Establishment Meeting - DEC 7th @ 6:00pm
Parkdale school would like to formally invite you to join us for a School Council Introduction & Establishment Meeting.
School councils are structured groups of parents, school administration, teachers and community representatives who work together to effectively support and enhance student learning. They are a means for parents and community members to work together with the school to support and enhance student learning.
School councils are an essential part of building a better school. Members of a school council can provide valuable information to direct the focus of a school, make improvements, and increase student success. This is a powerful way to be sure the voices of our community are heard.
At our Establishment Meeting, we will be discussing:
- What a Parent Council is and how it is a benefit for the school and students;
- Roles of Parent Council members;
- Election of Executive Positions;
- Establishment of recurring meeting dates and times.
We would also like to create a separate fundraising committee to provide resources and opportunities for our students. One of our major goals is to have a new playground for our K-3 students.
Please join us on Wednesday, December 7th from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm in Parkdale’s Room 104 for an introduction to Parent Councils and the opportunity to formalize a Parent Council executive.
Child-minding services will be available.
This meeting will be available to access via Zoom. If you would like the link, please contact the school office and one will be emailed to you.
