Roots of Empathy in Grade 2

The students in grade 2 are very fortunate to be participating in the Roots of Empathy Program that is offered through the Wetaskiwin Community Learning Program. With this program the students are fortunate enough to watch a baby grow through it's first year and learn about empathy through the development of the baby.

Today the students are learning about the topic of teething. They will discuss tooth milestones and when babies get their first teeth. They read the story "Sasha and the Wiggly Tooth" and will draw a picture showing how they feel about loosing their baby teeth. Their pictures are going to be collected for a book.

Next week the students are excited for their baby visit.
