Parkdale is excited to let you know that the Grade 6 class will be participating in a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) Camp on February 20th to February 22nd. During the 3 day camp, the students will be introduced to the exciting worlds of computer and electrical engineering. They will be challenged to use design thinking to solve real-world problems through hands-on activities. A key piece of the camp will be introducing the students to computational thinking and coding. They will build structures, build electronic devices, code robots and have a whole ton of fun before camp is done.
On Thursday, February 22nd in the afternoon the students will be hosting a showcase where the other students in the school are invited to come and see the learning that has happened during the camp. Other guests are more than welcome to the school from 1:20 pm to 2:45 pm to observe the showcase and interact with the grade 6 engineers. They will be very excited to share their learning with you.
Thank you to Mrs. Angela Dearing for organizing and running the camp for our students.
