Mayor Tyler Gandam came in to read a story with our grade one and two classes this week, but did much more than just read to them. He left us with a class full of students who felt important, felt heard, and who are now very excited to see if they will run into him around town.

He answered all of their questions about being mayor, and even more about his personal life!! 

This was a great way for us to kick off our “Wetaskiwin Reads” Wednesday’s. For the remainder of the school year, we plan on having community members in every Wednesday to read with our division one classes. If all goes well, hopefully it is something we can continue in the new school year!!
